What happens when I text START?
We'll ask a few quick questions by text to see if we're a good fit, then set up a free 15-minute weekday Google Meet — no hard sell, just a conversation about your goals. If it looks like a fit, we'll schedule your $100, 30-minute in-person assessment, which is credited toward your first program if you enroll.
Is performance training covered by insurance?
No. Performance and longevity programs are cash-pay, so they're not capped by insurance visit limits. If you're dealing with pain, an injury, or recovery from surgery, physical therapy may be covered by your PPO, Medicare, or Workers' Comp. See insurance details.
Can Medicare patients join a performance program?
Yes, once rehab is complete. Medicare rules don't allow cash-pay programs during covered rehab. After you finish, you'll fill out a short form that lets you continue with cash-pay wellness and performance training.
How much does it cost?
Remote coaching is $29/month, or $290 for 12 months prepaid (two months free). In-person sessions run $150–$170 depending on frequency, starting at $680/month for once-weekly training and scaling to $1,800/month for three sessions a week. In-person plans include 45-minute, one-on-one sessions at your home or gym, with discounts available for quarterly or semi-annual prepayment.
How does remote coaching work?
Dr. David builds your program each month in KEZI, our custom-built training app. KEZI gives you each day's workout and tracks your progress, so you can train on your own at your gym, work gym, garage gym, hotel gym, or wherever you are. You have direct access to Dr. David and his assistant whenever you need a program change, a modification, or help with an issue. It's $29/month, or $290 when you prepay for 12 months (two months free), which also includes a free introductory consultation call with Dr. David when you start. Month-to-month plans don't include the consultation call.
I'm finishing physical therapy. What comes next?
Once you're back to your prior level of function and rehab is complete, you can move straight into performance training, in person or through remote coaching. It's the same doctor and the same plan, now focused on getting stronger and staying that way.
What areas do you serve?
In-person training is in-home or at your preferred gym across Newport Beach and greater Orange County, CA. Remote coaching works wherever you are.
Do I need my own equipment?
Not for in-person training. We train with the VOLTRA cable resistance system from Beyond Power, which provides up to 230 pounds of resistance across a variety of resistance modes. That gives us a full library of upper body, lower body, core, and balance exercises anywhere we train, so a home gym or equipment isn't required. For remote coaching, your program is built around the equipment you have access to.
What is the VOLTRA, and why do you use it?
The VOLTRA from Beyond Power is a portable smart cable trainer. It's the primary tool we use in in-person sessions to build strength, power, and endurance, and it lets us bring serious resistance training to your home, gym, or office.
What's the difference between in-person training and remote coaching?
In-person training means Dr. David comes to you for 45-minute, one-on-one sessions built around the VOLTRA, starting at $680/month. Remote coaching means Dr. David writes your program every month in KEZI and you train on your own wherever you are, with direct access to him and his assistant, for $29/month.
Do I need to already be an athlete to train with you?
No. We work with people who want to feel strong and free in competition, travel, or everyday life — from 40- to 50-something executives who want to keep performing at a high level, to 70- to 80-something clients who want to preserve independence and reduce fall risk. Your program starts at your current level and progresses from there.
